Howard closing in on first All-Star startORLANDO, Dec. 13, 2007 - Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard could be well on his way to becoming a starter in the NBA All-Star Game for the first time in his four-year career. The NBA released its first round of all-star voting results on Thursday, and Howard has 596,187 votes -- the most of any center in the Eastern Conference. Howard, 22, has a sizeable lead over Miami's Shaquille O'Neal (282,727 votes). Howard made the NBA All-Star team last season for the first time, but he played in the game as a reserve behind O'Neal. Howard's 596,187 votes are the third-most of any player. He trails only Boston's Kevin Garnett (735,664) and Cleveland's LeBron James (597,768). Click here to read the full story |
